Sharing Christmas Donors, Volunteers Needed

Donors and volunteers are needed to help with this year’s Sharing Christmas event, which will take place from Saturday, December 7, and Monday, December 9, through Wednesday, December 11, at the Empower Sioux Falls Campus.

A collaborative effort between The Community Outreach and Center of Hope, Sharing Christmas is a valuable resource for families in need during the Christmas season. Through the Sharing Christmas Store, struggling families can provide Christmas gifts for their children at a fraction of the cost.

The Sharing Christmas Store has new toys sorted by age and category. Parents shop for their children to find the best toys for them. Toys are priced at 10 percent of the retail value, allowing families to use their money where it is needed most.

Individuals and groups are encouraged to donate to the Sharing Christmas Store by purchasing new toys and dropping them off at The Community Outreach. Monetary donations are also accepted. In addition, there are still spots available for volunteers who would like to work in the Sharing Christmas Store.

If you know of a family that could be blessed with gifts through Sharing Christmas, they need to complete an application form. Applications are being accepted until Wednesday, November 20.
