Fall Youth Soccer League

King of Glory and Celebrate Church will be partnering together again this fall to support a youth soccer league that will be held on Saturday mornings from September 17 thru October 29 at Meldrum Park, located at 6th St. and Lewis Ave. The soccer league is for all 2nd-5th grade students who either attend Terry Redlin Elementary School or live in the nearby neighborhood. King of Glory has had a partnership with Terry Redlin for several years now.

We are so excited and feel so blessed to be able to take part in what God is doing and is going to do through this program. We are especially excited to provide an opportunity for these students and their families to participate in organized sports, providing a setting for community connection to take place between us as a church and these families, but also between the families themselves.

There have been some amazing community organizations that have stepped up in a big way to aid this effort. Dakota Alliance Soccer Club will be providing all the coaches for the various sites that will host the league, while Scheels has agreed to provide nets, cones, t-shirts, shin guards and soccer balls. In addition, the City of Sioux Falls has given us the space and time needed at the different parks throughout the city.

Here’s how you can serve. A catered meal will be provided each week for the participants. King of Glory has been asked to provide 5 volunteers to serve from 9:30-11 am to serve the meal and clean up following the meal. In addition, volunteers will also pick up soccer goals, cones and soccer balls and return them to the onsite storage shed.

Families with children are encouraged to serve as a family. There is a playground area at Meldrum Park that can be used while parents are serving, or older kids are certainly welcome to help serve as well. Parents are asked to used their own judgement to determine if their child is capable of serving. When signing up to serve, there is a comment section to indicate if the child will be helping or not.

Celebrate will provide 8-10 volunteers each week to handle equipment setup and registration.

God is certainly on the move, and we are now ready to invite you to join in what He is doing in our schools and neighborhoods as we partner with them as a body of believers.
