Blessing Baskets - May 15
Individuals are needed to help pack blessing baskets for the Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety (formerly Children’s Inn). This serving opportunity will take place at King of Glory on Thursday, May 15, from 6-7:30 pm.
Blessing baskets will be packed at King of Glory. The group will then coordinate the delivery of the baskets to the Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety, located at 113 N St. Paul Ave. in Sioux Falls, just east of the Empower Sioux Falls campus.
This event is an effort to support and meet some of the needs of the women and children who have gone through the Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety program here in Sioux Falls (escaping difficult and abusive relationships/living situations) and are now ready to begin a new life as a family.
Unfortunately, when starting out in this new life, household and basic-needed items are the first items to get skipped on the shopping list and are not always factored into the household budget (as paying rent and other major bills take priority). So, we plan to fill up laundry baskets full of household items that can at least provide a good start for these wonderful families.
