First Communion Classes

Pastor Rich will lead First Communion classes during Lent on Wednesday, February 28, and Wednesday, March 20, from 7-8 pm at King of Glory. The classes are available to children in 1st-5th grade (or older if they haven't taken a class before) whose parents or guardians feel they are spiritually ready to receive communion.

First Communion classes are offered to teach the meaning and elements of communion, which gives parents and guardians an opportunity to discuss and prepare their child to receive communion. A parent or guardian must accompany their child to these classes.

The first class on February 28 will provide a high-level overview and the history of why we celebrate communion as Christ followers. At this class, parents and students will be given questions to discuss before the second class. At the March 20 class, there will be discussion regarding these questions as well as further teaching on communion and how we receive it.

There will be a First Communion Celebration on Palm Sunday, March 24, during the worship service.

Parents who feel their child is prepared to take these classes are asked to sign up their child by completing the sign-up form below.
