Faith Foundations Class
King of Glory will offer a Faith Foundations Class designed to help children and teens take ownership of their faith on Wednesday nights beginning in April. This class is for any student (who was either baptized as an infant or who is wanting to be baptized) in 8th grade or above.
This class, which in many traditions is known as confirmation, will consist of 15 weeks of classroom instruction that will focus on teaching the foundational teachings of Christianity. The class will be divided into two sections. The spring section begins Wednesday, April 3, and runs for seven weeks, concluding on Wednesday, May 15. The 8-week fall section begins on Wednesday, September 11, and finish on Wednesday, October 30. On Sunday, November 3, a Celebration of Faith service will be held during the worship service. This celebration will be an affirmation for those students who were baptized as infants, and a baptism opportunity for students who have not been baptized.
Alongside the 15-week class there is a mentoring experience where each student will be partnered with an adult to go through a simple devotional book together. The mentoring experience provides an opportunity for students to engage in spiritual conversation with a caring adult. Parents can also choose to go through the book with their child in place of a KOG-provided mentor.
